Home Benefits Plus Services

Get a 25% REBATE on real estate commissions when selling and buying

If you've ever bought or sold a home, you know that every penny counts! And if you're ready to buy your first home, saving those pennies is a necessity. Now, through special arrangements for our members, you can save hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars on your next home sale or purchase when it's handled by the professional Realtor® through the Home Benefits Plus service. As a University Credit Union member, you can receive a 25% REBATE on real estate commissions when you sell your home or when you buy one through a Realtor® using Home Benefits Plus**.

How does the service work?

Home Benefits Plus connects you to a network of nation-wide Realtors® from well-known realty agencies committed to serving the members of credit unions. Their agents will help you sell a property you own and they can help you buy your next property (you might get two different agents, for two different areas, doing two different jobs -- get a rebate for both transactions!). When you contact Home Benefits Plus, you will be connected with agents who are familiar with the area in which you will be focusing. After completing your transaction with your selected agent, you will receive a 25% rebate of the commission earned by your agent (a few weeks after the transactions is completed). With Home Benefits Plus you get a knowledgeable, professional Realtor® and a rebate of your agent's commissions whether you buy or sell a home (or both!).

How is the 25% rebate calculated?

If you're selling a home, you will receive a 25% REBATE on the real estate brokerage commission received by Home Benefits Plus as the selling Realtor®.

EXAMPLE: You’re buying a $300,000 home and using a Realtor® referred to you by Home Benefits Plus. The commission would typically be $9,000 - you would receive a 25% REBATE on the commission, therefore you would receive a rebate of $2,250.*

Note: Example based on brokerage commission of 3% of the buying or selling price.*

If you're buying a home, you will receive a 25% REBATE on the real estate brokerage commission received by Home Benefits Plus as the buying Realtor®.

EXAMPLE: For the sale of your existing $250,000 home, the commission would typically be $7,500 - you would receive a 25% REBATE on the commission, therefore you would receive rebate of $1,875. This means, in this example you could receive a total savings of $4,125!

Note: Example based on brokerage commission of 3% of the buying or selling price.*
