Shared Branching

Accessing your University Credit Union account has never been more convenient! UCU has partnered with other credit unions across the country through the CO-OP Shared Branch Network to provide members with better and more convenient access to their accounts and money. This means you can complete many transactions at a shared branching location just as if you were visiting UCU.

As a member of UCU, you can now conduct transactions and obtain services at more than 6,800 Shared Branching locations nationwide.

How do Shared Branches work?
Your membership and accounts remain at UCU, but you can access them through the Shared Branch location most convenient for you. Shared Branching FAQ. Through the Shared Branch Network* members can:

  • Make deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments
  • Transfer funds
  • Get loan advances
  • Purchase money orders and traveler's checks (if available)
  • Get balance inquiries and more!
  • UCU members get two free transactions per month.
Each qualifying credit union account can have two free withdrawals, two free transfers and two free deposits each calendar month at Shared Branching locations. After the monthly limit is reached for a particular transaction type, that transaction type will have a Shared Branching convenience fee of $2.00 per transaction. See Shared Branching FAQ for details.
