- Who is eligible to join University Credit Union?
Individuals can join UCU if they:
- Are faculty/staff and students at Abilene Christian University
- Have an immediate family member who is a UCU member
- Make a minimum donation of just $5 to the UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital or the Chase Child Life Program

- What are some of the products and services that are now available to me at UCU?
UCU has many products and services that were previously unavailable to ACU CU members, including credit cards, extended deposit/savings products, mortgages, business lending, high yield checking accounts, debit cards, mobile app with mobile deposit, investments, insurance, and much more. Book an appointment with a UCU team member to explore options.

Account Info
- Will my account number or information change?
Yes, your account number will change. UCU will send updates regarding this your new account number in advance of this change. You will receive a new account number via email or if your email is not on file with us, you will receive it by paper mail.
- As a new UCU member, do I need to register for digital banking?
Yes. Starting March 2, all members will need to register for UCU’s digital banking platform.
- Visit online.ucu.org/registration to enroll.
- Once registered, you can access your accounts online or through the UCU mobile app.
- What features are available in UCU’s digital banking?
UCU’s online banking offers:
- Account transfers and bill pay
- eStatements
- Card management through Card Manager
- Mobile check deposit via the app
- Will my direct deposits and electronic payments be impacted by the conversion?
No, they will not be immediately impacted. However, you will need to update your direct deposit and electronic payment information with UCU’s routing number.
- When can I start making direct deposits and electronic payments with UCU’s routing number?
You can start using UCU’s routing number, 322079502, for direct deposits and electronic payments beginning March 1, 2025.
Cash Deposits can continue to be made at the ACU Banking Hub and/or at any UCU or CO-OP ATM that accepts deposits.
Check Deposits can be made at the ACU Banking Hub and online:
- Via Mobile: You can deposit checks through the Remote Deposit Capture feature in the UCU Mobile App.
- From external accounts: A one-time ACH transfer can be processed. You can request this by contacting us at 800.UCU.4510.
- At any UCU or CO-OP ATM: Members can deposit checks with no limit.
- How can I pay my bills online?
You can use UCU’s convenient Bill Pay feature within mobile and online banking. Instructions on how to enroll in UCU Bill Pay will be available in the member portal.
- What will happen to my certificates through ACU Credit Union?
Your certificates will retain the same rates and terms until their maturity. Previously, auto-renewal was not offered at ACU CU, so upon maturity, funds will be transferred to your Primary Savings Share Account.
- How do I access my account statements and prior history?
For current and prior account history:
- You can access via digital banking or the mobile app
- You can also contact the ACU CU Banking Hub in-person or by calling UCU at 800.UCU.4510
Loans
- What happens to my loans and deposits?
- Loans: Your existing loan terms will remain unchanged.
- Deposits: ACU Credit Union deposit accounts will transition seamlessly.
- What will happen to my loans I have through ACU Credit Union?
Your loan terms and rates will remain the same. However, payments will now need to be made to UCU.
Rate matching may be available for closed-end loans (You must provide supporting documentation).
The credit union will not go below the established floor rate for each loan type. For example, if a member receives a 0% auto loan rate from dealership financing, we cannot match it because it falls below our floor rate.
- How do I make a loan payment to UCU?
Loan terms and rates will remain the same. However, payments will now need to be made to UCU.
Payments can be made online or through the UCU mobile app via account transfers. For internal transfers, you can auto-transfer payments from your UCU savings or checking account.
If mailed, payments should now be made payable and sent to:

Debit and Credit Cards
- Does UCU offer credit cards?
Yes, UCU offers additional credit cards, including the UCU Cash Back Credit Card and the UCU Rewards Credit Card. Contact us to learn more about these options.
- Will I receive a debit card with a UCU checking account?
If you choose to open a UCU checking account, you will recieve a debit card with that account. UCU will provide further communications regarding checking account and debit card options.
- Can I change the PIN number?
Yes, you can change your PIN by calling 800.503.9249 and providing the reference number included in the PIN mailer.

Rates are subject to approval and based on an evaluation of credit history and other factors specific to your loan (such as loan term, credit score, loan amount, loan-to-value, and length of credit) and may be higher than the lowest rates advertised. Rates are subject to change at any time.
1Early access to direct deposit funds is dependent on the timing of the submission of the payment file from the payer. Generally, these funds are available on the day the payment file is received, which may be between two and six days earlier than the scheduled payment date.
